We know that more and more people in the borough are facing financial challenges with rising household bills and inflation. We want to help you access the support you’re entitled to and find the advice available. Council support includes:
Our three community centres in Banstead, Horley and Woodhatch (Reigate) are operating as warm hubs, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. The centres also offer a warm and welcoming environment to meet friends and access local services.
Our Community Development team works closely with the borough’s food clubs and community fridges and some are hosted by our community centres.

Money Support service
Our Money Support service can offer tailored support for up to 12 weeks to help you budget and become more confident at managing your money. The team has also shared some tips on How to budget and save money.
Distributing the Household Support Fund
The government’s Household Support Fund, introduced in September 2021, is distributed by councils in England. The fund aims to directly support vulnerable households with meeting daily needs, such as food, clothing and utilities. We are awaiting confirmation of the amount that will be passed to us to distribute up to March 2023 and further information will be available soon.

The Mayor’s Trust Fund
The Mayor’s Trust Fund is a hardship fund designed to support residents of Reigate & Banstead who are experiencing particularly acute financial hardship. The Fund can support one off costs up to £500 (or in exceptional circumstances up to £750) that are putting extra financial pressure on a resident. Applications must be made on behalf of a resident by a council officer or trusted third party.
