This page is intended to help applicants that have already applied for a new or are renewing an existing Private Hire or Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licence.
As part of the licensing processes you will need to book your vehicle in at our Depot to undergo the required vehicle checks. Please see the information below on what checks you will need to book and pay for via our online depot appointment booking service. We strongly recommend before booking your appointment you see our guidance documents at the footer of this page.
Important notes: All vehicles will need to have a MOT unless they are brand new with less than 1000 miles when it arrives at the depot for it's inspection. If your vehicle has less than 1000 miles you will only need to book a vehicle inspection. This inspection will check the vehicle meets our licensing requirements and this is not mechanical in nature. The vehicle age is taken as the date of first registration. For a new application the vehicle MUST be less than 7 years from the date of first registration to the inspection date. Once a vehicle is 7 years old at the date of renewal it must pass it's inspection and MOT before the renewal date, otherwise the licence will have expired. A new application must be made and we will not licence the vehicle on a new application once it is over 7 years old.
