The UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) has made available funding to support Reigate & Banstead residents to make journeys that are important to them.
In July 2024 organisations working with residents who would benefit from community transport to help them attend services or activities in Reigate & Banstead were invited to apply for funding from the UKSPF Community Transport Grants, administered by the Community Partnerships Team.
The aim was to award funding that will be used to help remove the barriers of access, affordability or availability to transport and have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of some of our most vulnerable residents.
Organisations were able to apply for one of the following funds:
- Transport service funding – grants up to £5000
- Travel bursaries – grants between £500 - £1000
In August 2023 a panel, that included representatives from Health and Adult Social Care, reviewed the applications and agreed to allocate £16.5k of funding. This will be used to transport residents, who are in need of additional support, to medical appointments and / or to be active in community groups.
The funding was paid to the successful organisations, either as cash or in taxi vouchers that can be redeemed with a selection of taxi operators who are licensed by RBBC.
The following organisations have been awarded funding to provide travel bursaries or transport schemes to their service users.
