4. Paying your Council Tax
If you’re finding it difficult to pay your Council Tax or your rent don’t ignore it. Take the three steps highlighted below.
1. Council Tax discounts and exemptions
Check whether you’re claiming the Council Tax discounts and exemptions you’re entitled to
2. Council Tax reduction
Council tax reduction helps people on low income with their council tax charge. This is means tested.
If you are not entitled to or have been refused Council Tax reduction, you may still be able to get some help towards your bill by applying for the Discretionary Council Tax Reduction Scheme.
