3. Eligibility and guidance
Eligibility criteria
To qualify for the grant, applicants must be:
- Aged 18 or over
- Running a small business (up to 49 employees)
- Looking to grow their business
- Businesses based in the Borough of Reigate & Banstead
- Able to demonstrate growth over the last year and future plans
- Able to demonstrate availability of match funding
Examples of activities that qualify for funding include:
- Training of staff
- Employment of staff, or investment in plant or premises to support this
Documents required:
- completed Business employment, skills and growth grant application form
- A business plan including details of growth over the last year
- A three-year financial forecast
- Information on the legal structure of the business
- A recent bank statement, no older than three-months of the account the grant will be paid into
- If you are requesting funding towards recruitment costs, please provide the job description and details of when you hope to recruit
- If you are requesting funding for training, please provide details of the course
- If you are requesting funding for new premises, please provide details of the rental/lease details.

We do not require a specific format for your business plan and it can be a short document, but it will need to cover the following points as a minimum:
- Summary of your business objectives
- Your skills and experience
- Your target customers
- Your market and competition
- Your sales and marketing plan
