The purpose of the grant
The grant aims to support local small businesses who are looking to expand, enter new markets, become more environmentally sustainable, increase their efficiency, or capacity to continue their growth trajectory.
It is for small businesses of up to 49 employees who can demonstrate real growth.
The award is a ‘one off’ – intended to help small businesses grow by enabling them to gain new accredited skills or invest in new plant or premises that would lead to the recruitment of new staff, including apprentices. We will favourably consider applications that reduce the environmental impact of your business and / or your products. The Grant is not to be used for marketing or replacement IT equipment.
The Council has allocated £100,000 to this initiative with individual awards of up to £5,000 per business.
