First Alteration - Revised Deposit Draft
The proposed Revised Deposit Draft 2000 was published in July 2000, as part of the proposed First Alteration to the Borough Local Plan 1994.
Please note this page contains historic information for reference only. Changes were made after July 2000 through the local plan process, please read Proposed Modifications. The First Alteration, comprising the Revised Deposit Draft 2000 incorporating the Proposed Modifications 2004, was then adopted and came into operation on 7 April 2005. The Alteration has now been combined with unaltered parts of the Borough Local Plan 1994 to form the Borough Local Plan 2005.
This was not a replacement plan. The whole or part of a plan can be reviewed. Reviewing any part is called an alteration.
The proposed First Alteration focused on the strategic housing allocation at Horley considering new development and the associated need for infrastructure, services, etc. Other boroughwide issues were also considered, and policies regarding nature conservation, the Metropolitan Green Belt (but not the boundary), employment and retailing were updated.
