On Tuesday, 22 July, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council agreed its new corporate plan, setting out the Council’s vision and strategic priorities for the coming years.
The Plan describes what is important to the borough, to our residents, local businesses and the partner organisations that we work so closely with.
Launching the new Plan, Cllr Richard Biggs, Leader of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, said: “I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the preparation of our Corporate Plan, and especially all those who took part in our consultation and engagement events – your views have been vital in helping to define our priorities for the coming years.
“Whatever the shape of local government in Reigate & Banstead in the future, I am confident that together we can achieve our vision of a healthy and sustainable local area, where local people are supported, and our communities continue to thrive”.
The Plan is underpinned by three themes:
- Enabling our communities to thrive - we recognise the importance of creating great places to live and work; providing leisure, culture and community services; delivering high quality waste, recycling and cleansing services; and connecting with and listening to our service users.
- Support for those in need - we recognise the need to provide targeted support for people in need, as well as some areas of the borough, and that the Council has an important role to play in providing affordable housing and tackling homelessness.
- A resilient council - focuses on how we provide our services; making sure we have robust governance and decision-making processes in place, and that we invest in the tools and the people that we need to get the job done while providing good value for taxpayers.
