Cllr Richard Biggs, Leader of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council has confirmed the appointment of his new Executive Committee.

The announcement follows the departure, from the Executive, of Cllr Rich Michalowski who on Thursday 22 May was formally elected Mayor of the Borough of Reigate & Banstead. Cllr Michalowski was previously the Deputy Leader.

Cllr Biggs said he was "delighted" with his new team.

“I look forward to working with my new Executive team to continue to improve the lives of all those in our borough. Together, we will work closely with residents, businesses, and community groups to ensure that their interests are taken into account, particularly as we move towards local government reorganisation.”

The new Executive Committee is as follows:

  • Cllr Richard Biggs, Council Leader
  • Cllr James Baker, Deputy Leader, Executive Member for Community Development
  • Cllr Ben Green, Executive Member for Finance, Assets and Governance
  • Cllr James King, Executive Member for Corporate Policy and Resources
  • Cllr Nadean Moses, Executive Member for Greenspaces and Environmental Sustainability
  • Cllr Mus Tary, Executive Member for Housing and Support
  • Cllr Hannah Avery, Executive Member for Neighbourhood Services
  • Cllr Kate Fairhurst, Executive Member for Place, Planning and Regulatory Services
  • Cllr Shelly Newton, Executive Member for Leisure and Culture

The changes to the Executive line-up will result in some reallocation of committee roles and memberships to fill the resulting vacancies and ensure they are politically balanced. For more information on the committee members see our website.

Cllr Biggs added: “I would like to extend my thanks to outgoing Executive and committee members for their important contributions and commitment to the borough and our communities during their tenure.”
