While Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is working on re-letting and improving the offer and facilities in its park cafés in Banstead, Redhill and Reigate, the cafés will be closed temporarily.

The cafés in Redhill’s Memorial Park and Banstead’s Lady Neville Recreation Ground have already closed, and by the end of February the Pavilion Café in Priory Park, Reigate, will also close for a while.

In the coming months, the cafés in Banstead and Reigate will undergo essential maintenance work to modernise the facilities before they are re-let, while the Redhill Memorial Park café only needs limited maintenance.

Cllr Tim Archer said: “We wish to provide an improved food and beverage offer and enhanced facilities for residents to enjoy when visiting our parks. In the interim we are looking at options for temporary provision in Priory Park in Reigate, which is our busiest park, such as mobile food and drink operators.

“In the meantime, we ask for café visitors’ understanding and patience while we manage the re-letting process and make the necessary investment and maintenance work.”

More details of the re-letting process and updates about the re-opening of the cafés will be shared on our website and social media channels in due course.

Businesses interested in running one of the cafés are welcome to contact the Council’s Asset Management team via email: asset.management@reigate-banstead.gov.uk
