1. What is modern slavery?
Modern slavery includes domestic servitude, sexual exploitation, forced labour , forced criminality and child exploitation.
In 2024 there were 19,000 reports of potential victims made in the UK. There are more slaves worldwide today than at the height of the Atlantic slave trade in the 18th Century.
In the UK, forced labour and forced criminality are the most common types of slavery.
