4. Temporary closure and alternative activities

Horley Community Centre building and car park will need to close temporarily whilst the comprehensive refurbishment and modernisation of the centre is under way. We anticipate this will be for approximately 9 to 12 months and would not happen before late summer 2026.

We expect to have more information about dates in summer 2026.

Temporary activity programme

We understand that many of our community centre activities are a vital part of daily life for our regular visitors so we will continue to provide a core programme of activities, including hot weekday lunches, whilst the building is closed.

We’ve been working with staff, volunteers and visitors to develop a plan for Horley-based activities at an alternative venue.

We’ll be finalising arrangements over the next few weeks and will share further details as soon as possible.
