Memorial Park - Redhill
The Park has the following features:
- café pavilion with toilets and outdoor seating area. The café and the toilets are temporarily closed while we work on re-letting and improving the offer and facilities
- children's play area in a central location - the water is turned off in the winter
- sports zone with free tennis court and multi use games area and trim trail
- sensory garden

VC Memorial Stone - 2Lt Rupert Price Hallowes
The park is home to one of the VC Commemoration stones that are being laid in, or close to, the birthplace of all WW1 Victoria Cross recipients.
2Lt Rupert Price Hallowes was born on 5 August 1881 in Station Road Redhill. A pre-war Territorial soldier Rupert Hallowes arrived in France on 28 October 1914. Commissioned on 14 April 1915 Lieutenant Hallowes served with the 4th Battalion of the Middlesex Regiment.
He died on 30 September 1915 and was awarded his VC for ‘Most Conspicuous Bravery and Devotion to Duty’ during the fighting in Hooge, Belgium.
As well as the Victoria Cross Lieutenant Hallowes was also awarded the Military Cross. He is buried at the Bedford House Cemetery in West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
It is fitting that the stone is here in the Memorial Park, as the park was created with money raised by the Borough’s residents after WW1 to commemorate the fallen.
