Register for Council Tax or change of address
You must let us know within 21 days of your move to ensure the correct amount of Council Tax is paid.
For this form you need your:
- new address
- landlord's name and address (if renting)
You do not need your:
- Council Tax reference number

Moving within the borough
You can inform us that you are moving from one address to another in Reigate & Banstead using the form above. We will close your old account and send a closing bill to your new address. Any monies due can be paid and any overpayment will be transferred to your new address.
You can transfer an existing garden waste membership, use our dedicated move your garden waste membership process on the manage my membership webpage and don't forget to take your brown bin with you.
Moving into the borough
You can let us know you have moved into the area by completing the form above. This will allow us to update your account and give you more time to pay your Council Tax bill. Please note that all bills must be paid in full by 31 March. You will be charged from the date you purchased the property or the date your tenancy began. Remember to inform your previous council that you have moved out so they can close your old account.

Moving out of the borough
You can let us know that you are leaving the borough by completing the form above. Your Council Tax charge will end on the date the property is sold or the date your tenancy ends. We will send your final bill to your new address. Please remember to inform your new council that you are moving into their area so they can set up your Council Tax account.
Remember to move your garden waste membership if moving in the borough or to cancel your garden waste membership separately if moving out of the borough, details found on the manage my membership webpage. As stated in the terms and conditions, the membership cannot be cancelled via Council Tax.
Benefits
If you are in receipt of Council Tax Support or Housing Benefit, then please notify the Benefits department of your change of address separately.
Registering to vote
Registering to vote is a separate process to changing your Council Tax details. Everybody over the age of 18 should register to vote at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
