Development Management Policies
Development Management Policies is a Development Plan Document (DPD) forming part of the Local Development Framework.
The Development Management Policies DPD (formerly Development Management and Site Allocations DPD) is a development plan document forming part of the Local Development Framework.
The Development Management Policies DPD will provide detailed policies for managing development to deliver the objectives of the Core Strategy. These policies will be used in the consideration and determination of planning applications. Essentially, this document will update most of the current Borough Local Plan 2005 detailed policies.
Site allocations
The Development Management Policies DPD will also allocate land for different types of development, such as housing and employment and will detail protective designations such as the Green Belt. These allocations and designations will eventually be incorporated into a proposals map to accompany the development management policies.
Issues and options
A consultation was carried out in December 2010 / January 2011 on the issues that need to be addressed through the DPD and the options for dealing with them. Next Steps
The comments received in response to the Issues and Options consultation have now been reviewed and will be taken into account in the next stage of policy making. We are currently carrying out further work to develop our preferred policy approach and preferred site allocations. It is planned to consult on Preferred Approaches in early 2012.
