Previous consultations
The Council has undertaken a series of consultations on the Core Strategy. Previous consultations include Issues and Options in 2005, Preferred Options in 2006 and 2008, Proposed Changes Consultation and Outstanding Issues Consultation. We have undertaken a review of all the work undertaken to date and refreshed our evidence base. We expect to submit the proposed Core Strategy to the Secretary of State early summer.

Previous Core Strategy Examination
Examination in Public hearings on the previously submitted Core Strategy took place in early 2010. The Secretary of State, by letter dated 25 March 2010, directed the Council to withdraw the Core Strategy under Section 22 (2) (b) of the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, in response to the council's request.
Subsequently a Freedom of Information request was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate by an interested party. The request sought a copy of the draft Inspector's Report of the Council's Core Strategy Examination. In response to the Freedom of Information request the draft copy of the Inspector's Report has been released by the Planning Inspectorate. This draft Report has not been subject to a fact check by the Council. The draft Report is available to view here:
