Today we’ve been taking part in #OurDay, an annual live tweetathon to showcase the breadth of vital services the council delivers and the ways we help residents and businesses.
Services from parks to planning, leisure to licensing are being brought to life in 140 characters.
It’s also an opportunity to get a peek behind the scenes at the work of our equally important support services who help keep the council running, like finance and fleet management, human resources and IT.
We’re among thousands of public services nationwide tweeting using the hashtag #OurDay to give a greater insight into the hundreds of jobs councils do every day.
#OurDay is organised by the Local Government Association (LGA), which represents councils in England and Wales, to celebrate the work of local government in keeping communities runnning.
