Local Plan 2044 scoping consultation

The Scoping Consultation for the new Local Plan has now closed

Thank you to everyone who responded.

This consultation was the first stage of engagement in preparing the new Local Plan. It ran from 14 September to 5pm on 26 October 2026 and sought views on the issues, challenges and opportunities the plan should address, as well as how people would like to be involved as it progresses.

What happens next?

We are now reviewing the feedback, which will help shape the new Local Plan and future stages of engagement. We will publish a summary of the responses in early 2027.

The feedback received will continue to inform the Local Plan after responsibility for plan-making transfers to the new East Surrey unitary authority in April 2027.
