1. Voting by post

You can no longer apply for a postal vote for the General Election on 4 July.

You can apply for a postal vote if you’re away on holiday or because your work schedule means you can't get to polling station. You can also choose to vote by post simply because it would be more convenient for you.

When applying for a new postal vote, you must return your postal vote application form by 5pm, 11 working days before the poll.

The deadline to apply for a postal vote for the UK Parliamentary General Election on 4 July is 5pm on Wednesday 19 June 2024.

We will post your postal vote to you around 17 June if you applied for a postal vote before June. If you recently applied for a postal vote in June, it will be posted to you around 26 June.

You will need to provide your date of birth, National Insurance number and signature on your application form.

There are two ways to apply to vote by post:

You can choose to apply for a postal vote for a particular election, a particular type of election, or all elections you are eligible to vote in.

You can apply for a postal vote for a specific time period or for a maximum of three years.

You need to complete a new postal vote application if you have moved house.

Completed and signed paper forms can be scanned or photographed and sent by email as a clear one-page attachment to:

or by post to:
