At the meeting of the Annual Council on 21 May, Cllr Richard Biggs, Leader of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council confirmed changes to his Executive Committee.
Cllr Shelly Newton, ward councillor for Chipstead, Kingswood and Woodmansterne will step down from the Executive. Her Leisure and Culture portfolio responsibilities will be part of the Leader’s portfolio.
In addition, Cllr Michalowski, previously the Mayor, will rejoin the Executive. He will provide support where required, as well as be chief liaison with the Shadow Executive for the East Surrey shadow authority.
Cllr Biggs said, “I want to thank Cllr Newton for all her contributions this year – including those to bring forward the necessary works to our beloved theatre.
“As an Executive we are entirely committed to delivering on all our commitments to you in our last 10 months of office to leave a positive legacy for the new East Surrey council to take forward.”
These are changes to the Executive Committee of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, which will cease to exist after 31 March 2027. Hereafer, the geographic area of Reigate & Banstead will become part of a bigger, unitary council, East Surrey Council along with the geographic areas of Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell, Mole Valley and Tandridge.
