The search is on for the Young Market Trader of the Year 2024 and Redhill is set to host one of the local heats of this national competition on Saturday 22 June.

The National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) Young Traders Market competition is open to all traders aged 16-30 years. If you run or know an exciting small business that would be interested in joining this vibrant market event with the chance to become the UK’s ‘Young Trader of the Year’, then this competition is for you!

The competition is free to enter. Traders must be under the age of 31 on 26 August 2024.

Places are limited so get your applications in online as soon as you can.

Organised by Food Rocks in association with the NMTF and supported by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, this competition is a great opportunity to showcase your up-and-coming business in the local area. It is also a cost-effective way of raising your profile, engaging directly with new customers and learning from fellow traders.

Pitches will be provided free of charge and young traders will also get a gazebo and insurance for the day.

On the day itself, your stall will be judged with the opportunity of being put forward to the regional heat which will be held on 14 July at Portobello Market. If you are successful, you might also go forward to the National Finals in Stratford-upon-Avon later in the year!

As well as Redhill, there are other regional markets for young traders to try as part of the competition, including Horsham (28 April) and Eastbourne (1 June).

The NMTF are the only national trade association for market and street traders, events retailers and mobile caterers in the UK. Details of last years final and winners are can be found on their website.
