Nominations for this year’s Reigate & Banstead Sports Awards opened today (Monday 27 November 2023).
Residents are encouraged to nominate local people, teams, clubs, coaches or volunteers that they feel deserves recognition for their sporting contribution.
The awards recognise performance and dedication to sport in the borough for the period between 1 January and 31 December 2023. They are part of the Council’s strategy to promote active sport and encourage physical wellbeing.
Cllr Rod Ashford, Executive Member for Communities, Leisure, and Culture said: “We believe sport is an essential ingredient in creating and sustaining healthy communities.
“These awards are important, because they recognise the commitment of everyone involved in sport in our communities from those who play sport to those who coach sport and from volunteers to caregivers and parents.
“I really hope everyone will take this opportunity to nominate those individuals or groups who do so much to promote health and wellbeing through sport in our community.”
