Check your polling station
Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm. You can only vote if you have already registered.
John Jory, Electoral Registration Officer for Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, said: “There are a few things voters need to consider so they are ready to vote in the in the general election.
“Your poll card tells you the location of your polling station. Please make sure you check where it is before you go to vote as it might not be your nearest one, or in case it has changed. Please also make sure you leave plenty of time to get there and to vote.
“If you are registered, you don’t need your poll card to vote, but it’s best to bring it with you to make the process quicker and more efficient.
“If you can’t find your poll card, you can find your polling station by entering your postcode into the ‘Where I Live’ search on our website.”
Not sent your postal vote?
Voters who have opted to vote by post need to make sure their postal ballot pack is returned by 10pm on 12 December. If you haven’t got around to posting it, you can hand it in at your polling station or hand deliver it to the Town Hall, Reigate, up until 10pm on polling day.
Proxy voters
If you’re voting on behalf of someone else as their proxy, remember that you need to go to their polling station to do so, rather than yours.
Accessible polling stations
All our polling stations have ramps, wheelchair accessible polling booths and visual aids. Polling station staff will be on hand to help anyone who needs it and carers or support workers can also help. Assistance dogs are welcome too.
Pen or pencil?
When you get to your polling station, you’ll find a pencil in the booth, but you’re welcome to use your own pen if you prefer. As long as your voting intention is clear, your vote will be counted.
Photos
Polling day selfies are a great way to let people know that you've voted and encourage other to do so, but there are a few rules you need to follow. Photos outside the polling station are fine but photos inside are not allowed as they could potentially breach the secrecy of the ballot requirements.
