An open casting event for young people passionate about singing, dancing or drama takes place on Sunday 28 January at the Harlequin.
The casting is for Star for a Night, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s annual variety show which is open to young people aged 11 to 18 who live or go to school or college in the borough.
“All young people who come to the casting event are guaranteed a place in the show. You can choose from singing, dancing or drama and the casting event simply gives our experts an idea of what you can do,” says Cllr Ros Mill, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s Executive Member for Leisure and Wellbeing.
Unforgettable experience
The council has run Star for a Night for nearly 20 years as a way of supporting young people who enjoy the performing arts and to nurture their talents. At the final shows, the young people perform on stage at the Harlequin to a live audience. “The show is a fantastic opportunity to improve your skills, learning from experts in dance and musical theatre. Performing on stage in a public theatre is an unforgettable experience and the young people really enjoy themselves. Everything you need to know for the casting and rehearsals is on our website, so sign up now” says Cllr Mill.
