Friday 7 July sees the reopening of the Priory Park play area in Reigate, now featuring brand new splash play equipment!

After a temporary closure to update the well-used equipment, the play area will reopen this weekend for children to start enjoying the new splash play area alongside the other much loved playground favourites.

The area includes new wet pour rubber flooring in two colours to depict sand and water, making the existing ship look close to the beach. The new jets spray water at a variety of heights, pressures and patterns.

The previous playground equipment has been replaced after showing signs of heavy wear and tear and the sand removed because it caused problems with the former water play apparatus.

Dr Lynne Hack, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Environment, said: “We’re so excited to see the play area reopen. The splash play equipment is ready for use well in time for the summer holidays and we can’t wait to see children enjoying the water. We know our greenspaces are really important to our residents and we hope that this equipment brings something extra to the space.

“As well as this, we are lucky to welcome many outdoor events to Priory Park over the summer, including children’s outdoor theatre in August, so there will be plenty to keep children of all ages entertained during their break.”
