Redhill Arts Takeover aims to inspire people to get creative themselves. This year there are plenty of activities and workshops where you can improve your skills or discover new talents.

Any costs are kept as low as possible and are designed to cover professional fees only.

A Colourful Life - community art drawing

Imagine the centre of Redhill transformed into a giant canvas! Imagine that people come in their hundreds to chalk every paving slab a random colour.

Meet by the library steps at 11am evey day for a colour takeover, under the eye of local artist, The Colourful Collective.

Mixed media workshop with Louise Wishart

Get messy, get creative, and try something new! This beginner-friendly mixed media workshop invites you to play with colour, texture, collage, mark-making and more.

No experience needed - just bring your curiosity and leave with your own unique artwork as part of Arts Takeover.

Ink workshop with Savanna Rawson

Join local artist Savanna Rawson for a relaxed, hands-on gouache painting workshop designed to spark creativity and build confidence - no matter your experience level.

Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or looking to explore a new medium, this session will introduce (or deepen) your understanding of gouache, a vibrant, versatile paint known for its rich matte finish and forgiving nature.

Neon Life Drawing

Unleash your creativity and draw in neon under captivating ultraviolet light in Redhill! 

In partnership with Front Room Songs, Neon Life Drawing is heading beyond London for a special one-off UV life drawning event.

Wreath making workshop

Celebrate the turning of the seasons with a hands-on workshop exploring traditional wreath making. Using natural materials, you’ll learn simple techniques to create your own beautiful decorative piece to take home. Suitable for beginners, this relaxed session is a chance to slow down, get creative and enjoy a mindful morning in good company.

Come and create a community mural. Any children must be accompanied by an adult. No booking required.

Music and dance activities

Open choir rehearsal with Unison Choir

Unison Choir is a fun, fabulous and affordable local choir!

We have a great time singing fantastic pop songs together, we are super friendly and welcoming, we rehearse once a fortnight to fit in with busy lives and we regularly perform at fantastic local events including Run Reigate, Reigate Summer Festival and the Volunteer Awards.

It’s easy peasy to join, just come along for a free go, no need to read music, no singing experience required! Just turn up and enjoy it.

Bollywood Flash Mob

A unique opportunity to take part in an extraordinary Bollywood dance experience in association with the Asian Social Group and Sparkbeats Dance Troupe. Just turn up and join in.

Dance Free

If you love a night out dancing this is that, with all the fun and energy, and none of the hassle and expense. Dance Free is the last Saturday of every month, 2 hours to come and just dance, to classic and modern dancefloor fillers

Stage and screen make-up workshop with Rebecca Hall

Rebecca has over 16 years’ experience working in film and tv, including BAFTA winning drama Bad Sisters. In this special arts takeover workshop, Rebecca will recreate one of her favourite make ups to do - Casualty. Using a mixture of film quality techniques, including small prosthetics, she will demonstrate how to create hyper realistic cuts and bruises.

Comedy writing masterclass with Kevin Precious

Always fancied trying your hand at stand-up comedy but never got around to it? Or maybe you're thinking stand-up would be a great way to boost your presentation skills, improve the business of public speaking or add a comedic aspect to your writing and/or performing? Well now you can do precisely that by signing up for our stand-up comedy workshop led by professional comedian and MC, Kevin Precious. A brilliant way to learn, meet like-minded individuals and - most significantly - have fun at the same time.
