2. Under eviction

  • If you have been served with a notice of eviction, you should seek advice from your Prison Resettlement Officer as soon as possible
  • You should contact your landlord immediately to find the reason behind the eviction and see if you can resolve the issue through mediation. Your Prison Resettlement Officer can speak to your landlord on your behalf.
  • If the landlord continues with the eviction, you’ll have the opportunity to submit your defence to the courts.
  • If your social landlord has served you with a notice of eviction, you can appeal the eviction procedure. You should be sent notifications from your landlord whilst in prison. Seek advice from your Prison Resettlement Officer to assist you to defend yourself.
