Engagement and consultation
Your voice matters. This is a park being designed with the community, for the community.
In our Open Space Survey (2025), 777 residents and 13 community organisations shared their views. Key findings include:
- a strong demand for better sports and play facilities
- insufficient provision for children under 12 and teenagers
- a need for improved quality of pitches and facilities for sports.
Community feedback has already played a major role in shaping the emerging plans for the Town Park. Comments from clubs, sporting bodies and hundreds of residents have helped us prioritise grassroots sport, create more space for children and teenagers, improve accessibility and inclusivity, and enhance the overall quality of the open space.
Further community engagement will take place in 2026 and continue as plans develop. This will include public events and workshops with sports clubs, schools, youth groups and Horley Town Council, ensuring local voices remain central throughout the design process.
Keep an eye on this webpage and our social media channels to keep up to date and help shape the future of open space facilities in Horley.
