In most cases there will be a planning application fee and service charge, payable at the time of submission.

Planning application fees

The statutory national planning application fees are set nationally set and increased on 1 April 2025: Planning fees (planningportal.co.uk)

Planning application service charges

In addition to the planning application fee (above) there is also a service charge. The service charge differs depending on how you submit your planning application.

Online application - Planning Portal

A service charge of £70.33 +VAT applies to all planning applications submitted through the Planning Portal website application system that have a fee of over £100. This is payable at the time of submission. Applications under £100 do not incur a service charge.

Payments for online applications should be made via the Planning Portal website not directly to Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.

£85 including VAT, to cover the manual inputting of the application.

Postal application - Reigate & Banstead Borough Council

Free.
