2. How to appeal - Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS)

This page is about appeals and the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme for the business.

Following a food safety inspection of your premises by an Environmental Health Officer you will be told in writing what your food hygiene rating is. This will either be at the time or within 21 days (this includes weekends and public holidays).

If you think that the rating is wrong or unfair, in other words it does not reflect the hygiene standards at the time of inspection, you can appeal against this.

To do this, you should complete the standard appeal form and send this to food.safety@reigate-banstead.gov.uk.

21 days to appeal

You only have 21 days (including weekends and bank holidays) from the date of receipt of the notification letter to lodge an appeal.
