Surrey Youth games 2017

The Specsavers Surrey Youth Games gives young people, aged 7-15, in Reigate & Banstead the opportunity to get active by coming to one of our free sport sessions. Up to 8 weeks of free sports available including Squash, badminton, netball, tennis, table tennis and more.

Participants were selected from our free sessions to represent the borough at the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games which took place on the 17/18 June at Surrey Sports Park.

The Specsavers Surrey Youth Games

The main aims of the games are:

  • to provide meaningful activities for young people
  • to provide focus and tangible outcomes for sports development work
  • to create a spirit of friendly competition
  • to demonstrate co-operative working between authorities
  • to demonstrate and promote the value of sports development
  • to provide competition for young people with sporting potential.

Results

Reigate & Banstead did fantastically well at the Specsavers Surrey Youth Games coming second in the overall medal table winning the following medals:
