3. Volunteer opportunities
If you would like to volunteer with one of our community development projects, there are a number of opportunities currently available. If you're interested in any of the roles below, email communitypartnerships@reigate-banstead.gov.ukwith your name, the opportunity you are interested and what area you live in.
Food Club support
Our food clubs in Horley, Redhill, Merstham, Woodhatch and Preston are in need of volunteers to continue to cultivate the relationships we have built with local supermarkets and to collect food for delivery to the clubs.
Requirements: Access to a car. A degree of physical strength (we sometimes get fairly large donations). Availability to collect food in the early evening or early morning at least once a week
Good Neighbour schemes
We are looking for people in Horley, Preston and Redhill who are able to offer a couple of hours a month to help set up a transport scheme to help older and disabled people get out and about to medical appointments and social events. A similar scheme already exists in Merstham - find out about Merstham Neighbours.
Requirements: Two to three hours of time each month. Ability to contribute to the committee and potentially take on a role such as Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Comms lead, Volunteer Coordinator
Community Health Champions
To receive and distribute regular updates from Public Health primarily related to coronavirus (COVID-19). This is a great way to continue your support of the COVID vaccine programme. As well as a regular email update you will also have the opportunity to attend occasional county-wide webinars with clinicians and staff involved in the vaccine roll out. We are looking for people willing to share this information with their friends, neighbours and networks
Requirements: willingness to share verified public health information via conversations and or online
