Deputy Mayor

The Deputy Mayor is elected for a term of office of one year.

Councillor Jed Dwight, Deputy Mayor of the Borough of Reigate & Banstead

Born, raised and educated on the Isle of Wight, Councillor Jed Dwight first took political office as a Parish Councillor for the ward of Calbourne on the island.

He went on to work for two Members of Parliament in Westminster, before securing a role working for the National Trust. He also edits national poultry magazine Fancy Fowl. 

Jed was elected to Reigate & Banstead Borough Council in 2023, representing the ward of Chipstead, Kingswood, Woodmansterne (and Burgh Heath).

Since his election, he has served on the council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee and also the Budget Scrutiny Panel.

Jed is passionate about our history and heritage - working alongside the popular Heritage Open Days team - and is an admirer of nature, often enjoying the abundant wildlife across Chipstead Downs alongside his two dogs Bella, Callie and fiancé Elliot.
