2. Who can vote in the East Surrey Council elections?

Your eligibility to vote in the East Surrey Council elections depends on the following:

Registration

You must be registered to vote.

Citizenship

You will need to hold British, Irish or qualifying Commonwealth citizenship

OR

You will need to be a citizen of:

  • Denmark, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal and Spain who is resident in the UK, has permission to enter or stay in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man, or who does not need permission
  • any other EU country who on or before 31 December 2020 was legally resident in the UK, had permission to enter or stay in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man, or who did not need permission, and this has continued without a break

Age

You will need to be 18 or over on the day of poll.

Where you live

You will need to live within the East Surrey unitary area (currently one of the following districts/boroughs: Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell, Mole Valley, Reigate and Banstead or Tandridge).
