Whilst the borough is somewhat geographically separated from Heathrow, parts of the borough are impacted by overflight.

Flight Paths

Heathrow Airport Limited (HAL) is currently undertaking two airspace change proposals in accordance with the guidance detailed in the Civil Aviation Authorities CAP 1616 Guidance (Civil Aviation Authority website):

Given that a number of borough residents are affected by overflight from Heathrow Airport, we are actively involved in these airspace change proposals.

Future Developments at Heathrow Airport

Following the Airports Commission work, on 25th October 2016, the Government announced that its preferred scheme to meet the need for new airport capacity in the South East of England was a Northwest Runway at Heathrow Airport.

Following this decision a Airports National Policy Statement (Gov.UK) was produced which provides the primary policy basis for decision making on any development consent application for the new Heathrow runway.

Given that a number of borough residents are impacted by overflight from Heathrow, and given the potential surface access impacts on the strategic road and rail network passing through the borough, we are actively involved.
