Mayor's Upcoming Civic and Fundraising Events:

11 October 2026 - Freedom of the Borough presentation

Location: Priory Park, Reigate

Time: 1-2pm

Cost: Free 

A special civic event (in accordance with Section 249 of the Local Government Act 1972) celebrating the award of Freedom of the Borough to four local cadet units.

This prestigious honour provides an important opportunity to recognise the history of the chosen cadet units and the significant contribution they continue to make across the borough. Their commitment to youth development, community cohesion, support for civic events, the Mayoralty, and Remembrance observances has made a lasting impact on our communities.

The cadet units being awarded Freedom of the Borough are:

  • Reigate Sea Cadets, Reigate Unit No. 281, T.S. Ark Royal
  • Banstead ACF - Anzio Company, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment
  • Redhill ACF - Anzio Company, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment
  • RAF Air Cadets, 135 (Reigate & Redhill) Squadron, Surrey Wing
