Inviting the Mayor to attend an event
Completing the Form
Please make sure you have all the details of your event to hand before filling out the form. The form cannot be saved in a partially completed state.
When completing the form:
- All invitations must be addressed to the Mayor
- Include as much information as possible as this will be the Mayor's only guidance should he/she attend
- We will aim to confirm if your request has been successful within five working days. If you have not received confirmation by this date, please email the office.
Completion of the form does not guarantee the Mayor's attendance at your event.
Please note: All requests to the Mayor will be considered in line with current government guidance.
How to address the Mayor and Deputy Mayor
On first announcing the Mayor in a meeting please refer to him/her as
THE WORSHIPFUL THE MAYOR OF REIGATE AND BANSTEAD Councillor ….
Thereafter please refer to the Mayor as Mister Mayor or Madam Mayor
On first announcing the Deputy Mayor in a meeting please refer to him/her as
THE DEPUTY MAYOR OF REIGATE AND BANSTEAD Councillor ….
Thereafter please refer to the Deputy Mayor as Mister Deputy Mayor or Madam Deputy Mayor
