Businesses are eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant if they have been told to close by the Government for the national lockdown between 5 November and 2 December. These businesses include non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses. A full list of businesses required to close or are able to stay open has been published.
To qualify for this grant, your business must be in the borough of Reigate & Banstead and has been:
- open as usual before the restrictions, i.e. on 4 November 2020.
- required to close due to restrictions imposed by the Government.
- paying business rates for the premises before restrictions started.
Your business will not qualify for support under this scheme if it was in administration, insolvent or a striking off order was made at the time local restrictions started.
How much is the grant and when will it be paid?
The amount you get depends on the rateable value of your premises. You will receive support on a rolling 28-day basis for as long as national restrictions apply, as shown below.
Rateable value and support amount
|Rateable value of premises||
Grant payment for the 28-day restriction period
|£15,000 or under||£1,334|
|£51,000 or over||£3,000|
You can find the rateable value of your premises on your latest business rates bill. You will need your business rates account number when you apply.
