Missing amenities in the town centre that Horley Community Centre could provide

We asked participants if there is anything that they think should be available in Horley town centre that is missing and could potentially be accommodated in Horley Community Centre.

This question received 25 responses, 47 participants skipped it. The comments of those who responded are summarised below, see Appendix 1 for the full responses.

  • Facilities: Cinema, free parking, wellbeing areas, arts and crafts space, soft play, bank, fitness studio and exhibition space.
  • Catering: More puddings.
  • Services/programming/activities: music events, computer training, multi-generational activities, exercise groups for men, exercise groups for children, cookery workshops, SEN Youth Club, Youth club, exchange café for items (ie books and baby clothes), citizens advice/help shop, repair shop, disability equipment shop/mobility scooter hire, sports activities/gym and clothes shopping.

Other community benefits

We asked participants to share any other comments, suggestions, or ideas that would benefit the community at Horley Community Centre.

This question received 23 responses, 49 participants skipped it. The comments of those who responded are summarised below, see Appendix 1 for the full responses.

  • Layout: Safe internal and external spaces for multi-generations, improvements to the entranceway.
  • Facilities: AV technology (sound systems, projector screen), water fountain, hot-desks, bookable working booths, workspaces, areas for meeting support workers, improvements to the carpark, graffiti wall, advice café.
  • Accessibility: Create an accessible space for all ages and improve access.
  • Building systems: Air conditioning and solar systems.
  • Street presence: Visible from the high street.
  • Decoration: More vibrant and modern.
  • Services/programming/activities: cheap hireable spaces, more advertising of the centre, charity fundraising events, SEN family events, opportunity to meet community organisations (ie police, fire, farming), more group events, baby classes, older people activities, Councillor/MP Surgeries, parent groups, creative classes, language classes, forestry classes, DIY workshops, more activities for all ages, health screening, educational workshops (including nutrition, finances and legal).
