Flexible spaces for different activities
Earlier feedback suggested the building needs more flexible spaces that can accommodate a range of different types of activities. We asked participants what kind of spaces would be most useful to them and the centre’s visitors.
This question received 32 responses, 40 participants skipped it. The comments of those who responded are summarised, see Appendix 1 for the full responses.
- Building systems: room partitions, soundproofing.
- Facilities: meeting rooms, music rooms, dedicated space for young adults, buggy and mobility scooter parking, quiet rooms, a variety of room sizes, larger hall, social and hireable spaces, art and craft areas, SEN spaces for teenagers, activity spaces for older people, outdoor area, storage, bigger café.
- Services: hairdressers, chiropody, Citizens Advice, eye clinic, exercise classes.
- Accessibility: full wheelchair access in all areas.
- Furniture: mobile furniture (on wheels).
- Other: dog-friendly.
Health and beauty facilities
We asked participants how important it to them that Horley Community Centre offers health and beauty services (such as hairdressers, beauty salon, chiropody, physiotherapy).
This question received 52 responses, 20 participants skipped it. Of those who responded, 44.2%, identified health and beauty services at the centre as very important, followed by 25% who considered them somewhat important, while a small proportion, 5.8%, felt these services were not important. The breakdown of responses is shown in Figure 3.
