Activities that create a welcoming centre
This question received 69 responses, 3 participants skipped it. Of those who responded, 56.5% of participants identified introducing intergenerational activities that bring together different age groups would make the centre feel more welcoming to everyone. Similarly, participants felt that offering more activities specifically for older people (55.1%) and providing more activities for teenagers and young adults (53.6%) would make the centre feel more welcoming to everyone. The full breakdown of responses regarding what activities could make Horley Community Centre feel more welcoming to everyone is shown in Figure 1.
Feedback provided in the ‘Other (please specify)’ field included suggestions for:
- Accessibility improvements.
- More promotion and advertisement of the centre’s activities.
- More programmed activities including languages, exercise, dance, cookery, theatre, SEN groups for teenagers and young adults, multi-generational and social activities.
- Provision of new spaces including outdoor seating area, bar, BBQ area, music spaces.
- Improved toilets.
