Safer Redhill

Eli played a crucial role in supporting the Safer Redhill project, ensuring that the voices of those living closest to the Town Centre (on the Cromwell Estate) benefited from some of the initiatives to improve safety.

Community Impact: In response to feedback from residents and, in particular, women, Eli and colleagues ran a self-defence course with the help of Alex Moore from Redhill Boxing Club. The five sessions were led by Lisa Boardman who introduced women to a range of practical ways to handle real-life potential dangers. 17 women attended the sessions, which they say have boosted their confidence. PC Atkinson and PC Ferma from Reigate & Banstead Beat (Surrey Police) also talked about the support they offer and gave away safety alarms. The group also had a visit from Laura from East Surrey Domestic Abuse Service who spoke about their invaluable support.
