Coronation Weekend
Buckingham Palace has confirmed events for the Coronation Weekend, 6 to 8 May 2023.
The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May 2023 during a service led by the Archbishop of Canterbury. It will be the first of three big events planned over the weekend.
Saturday 6 May 2023 - The Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort will take place at Westminster Abbey during a service led by the Archbishop of Canterbury.
Sunday 7 May 2023 – Coronation Big Lunch where neighbours and communities across the country are invited to share food and fun together. A Special Coronation Concert will be staged and broadcast live at Windsor Castle by the BBC and BBC Studios, with several thousand pairs of tickets to be made available via public ballot.
Monday 8 May 2023 – The Big Help Out where everyone is encouraged to volunteer and join the work being undertaken to support their local areas.
Reigate & Banstead Borough Council encourages residents to take part in the celebrations. Details of available support for local activities are being worked on and will be announced over the coming months.

If you are planning a volunteering activity as part of the Big Help Out day on Monday 8 May 2023, or you would like people to find out what you are doing, you can register your idea on the big help out app here. You can also search for volunteering opportunities on the Voluntary Action Reigate & Banstead (VARB) website. VARB is part of a national network of Councils for Voluntary Service.
Coronation Street parties
Please note that applications for street parties are closed as the deadline has passed.
Residents are however encouraged to feel free to invite the Mayor and or Deputy Mayor to events, including to street parties. You can do so by completing and submitting this request. Alternatively, you can contact the Mayor's office directly via email: mayor@reigate-banstead.gov.uk.
