5. National Moment of Reflection
The Mayor of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Cllr Frank Kelly, ledg a short ceremony to mark the National Moment of Reflection with a one-minute silence by the flagpole in front of the Town Hall, Reigate, at 8pm on Sunday 18 September.
Everyone was welcome. It was a chance to mourn the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and reflect on her life and legacy. The Town Hall was lit up in purple, a traditional royal colour.
Horley Town Council and Horley Royal British Legion also held a short service on Sunday to commemorate the death of Queen Elizabeth ll. The service was held at the War Memorial, Horley Recreation Ground, at 5pm. All members of the public were welcome to join in.
