Reigate and Banstead is conveniently located for air travel, being
- just ten miles north of Gatwick airport
- 30 miles south east of Heathrow airport.
The proximity of the airports is useful for residents and businesses alike.
However, the Council does have to be vigilant over expansion plans particularly for Gatwick.
Proposals to expand Gatwick from a one runway airport to a two or three runway airport were fiercely opposed by the Council and eventually they were withdrawn.
