Banstead Countryside Day
Popular annual event taking place Sunday 14 September in Banstead Woods.
As part of Reigate & Banstead’s Heritage Open Days, Banstead Countryside Day will be taking place in Banstead Woods from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sunday 14 September.

A wide variety of stalls showcasing rural crafts, local groups and wildlife will be on display.
Plenty of activities
Visitors can also watch demonstrations of traditional woodland management techniques, re-enactments by a local historical society and dog handling displays.
Guided tours through the ancient woodland and chalk grassland will be delivered throughout the day. There will be lots of activities for children, including nature trails, mini beast safaris, model making and trailer rides.

Cllr Adam De Save, Executive Member for Environment, said: “It is wonderful to see an event of this kind taking place in the Borough.
"Like the rest of the events and openings being organised as part of the Heritage Open Days, this event is free to attend.
“I hope many people take advantage of the Heritage Open Day events taking place across the Borough, from Thursday 11 to Sunday 14 September.
"The Open Days are a wonderful opportunity to take in many of our Borough’s hidden treasures.”
Celebrate the countryside
The event is organised by the Downlands Countryside Management Project in association with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
Alec Baxter-Brown, Downlands Project Manager, said: "Banstead Countryside Day is now in its eighth year and is one of the most popular annual family events held in the borough.
"We provide an informative and enjoyable day out for all ages, celebrating our local countryside and its traditional crafts.
"We hope to encourage everyone to come and enjoy the beautiful open spaces right on their doorstep. With 10,000 visitors last year, we hope that this year will be even bigger and better".
