Markets

Theme markets in the Borough

This section provides information about theme markets which visit the Borough, such as French, Italian and Farmers markets.

Theme markets regularly visit the Borough to add an extra splash of colour to our town centres.

Farmers Markets

People love the rustic treats provided by the Farmers Markets which visit the towns every month. The stall-holders are farmers from the local area, and they offer a feast of fresh, good quality, locally grown produce.

Shoppers like the sights, sounds and smells of the market and of course the produce, while local traders enjoy the increase in shoppers it brings to the town.

French Markets

People also enjoy the visits of the French Markets.

Stalls are packed with a delicious and varied selection of fresh produce including home smoked and cured meats, cassoulet, confit de canard, ham, saucissons, pate and wonderful cheeses.

The French markets are run by a management company based in England but the stallholders themselves come over from France early in the morning in order to be ready for business at 9am.

The next French markets will be held in:

Italian markets

You can visit the panifico overflowing with ciabatta and pastries, taste the olives and sample the extra virgin olive oil at the olive stall, then wander over to the formaggi to sample mozzarella, gorgonzola and many other fresh cheeses on offer.

At the pizzeria you can buy freshly baked Pizza al Taglio, metre-long trays of authentic Italian pizza ready to be taken home and cooked in the oven.

Then have a few spoons of ice cream at the gelateria followed by a cup of real Italian espresso coffee.
