Fastway Bus Service
This section describes the Fastway bus service which operates between the south of the Borough and the airport.
Fastway is a smart bus service for Horley, Crawley and Gatwick.
It was the first of its kind in the South East, Fastway is an integrated transport system that will be an 'intelligent', comfortable and efficient alternative to the private car.
Equipped with the latest 'smart' technology, it will give real-time passenger information and enjoy dedicated lanes and priority at traffic lights. It will operate a fast, frequent and reliable service.
Fastway is being developed by a public-private partnership between West Sussex County Council, Surrey County Council, Crawley Borough Council, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, BAA Gatwick, British Airways, public transport group Go-Ahead and its bus operating subsidiary Metrobus.
