Private sector housing
This page summaries the Council's role in regulating, repairing and improving privately owned housing in the Borough
The Council also works to ensure that private sector accommodation is free from risks to health and safety to occupiers and visitors and is fit for the number of people living there.
We do that by reacting to complaints from tenants and carrying out inspections. Our role is to enforce the law relating to private sector accommodation.
If you are an owner-occupier or an elderly or disabled tenant we may be able to help with financial help to make improvements or adaptations to your home.
