Private Sector Housing - Assistance with Repairs and Adaptations

This section provides information and advice about private sector housing repairs assistance.

One of the Council's priorities is to maintain and improve the fabric of homes in the private sector and to ensure our residents' homes are safe, fit and meet legislative standards.

This section concerns the various ways in which the Council helps vulnerable people who need repairs and adaptations carried out to their home.

Private sector housing repairs assistance

The Council sets aside part of its capital annual budget to assist private homeowners to maintain their property.

The following types of grant and loan are available. 

• Loan assistance with Large Scale Works (Houseproud) 
• Home Repair Assistance for small scale works 
• Disabled Facilities Grant     

The administration of our grant and loan scheme is carried out in partnership with Anchor Staying Put agency.
